Judith Ellen Wyatt, 76, of Elkville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:52 p.m, Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Judy was born on November 9, 1947, in Mt. Vernon to Jack David and Mickey Evelyn (Smith) Archer Sr. She was united in marriage to Charles Wyatt on July 11, 1969, in Eldorado. They shared 40 years of marriage together, before he preceded her in death on August 28, 2009.
Judy was a graduate of Eldorado High School. She loved children and went on to become a kindergarten teacher, a profession that she was proud of. Judy later retired from teaching at Equality Christian Center.
Judy was a long-time member of the Lighthouse church in Royalton, where she was known as the "Candy Lady." She also played the trumpet in the church band for many years, before her health began to fail. She enjoyed crocheting and a friendly-competition board game.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Wyatt and son-in-law, Tommy Wallace of Carbondale; siblings, Jane (Steve) Kerly of West Frankfort, Pamela Archer of West Frankfort and Jack Archer Jr. of Vancouver, WA; brother-in-law, Donnie Tudor of Elkville; sister-in-law, Mary (Ernie) Hargett of Crossville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and her chosen family, Cindy and Steve Miller.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Vickie Tudor; two beloved dogs, Sassy and Jake.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
