Judy Ann Ratliff Anderson, age 77, of Vanceburg, formerly of Tilton, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Vanceburg Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lewis County.
She was born December 10, 1947, at Sharkey, Fleming County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late William Howard Taft Ratliff and Katherine Brown Ratliff Caudill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Everett Anderson, Jr. on November 25, 2005, and Tim Anderson on March 23, 2023, and two brothers, Caleb Roger Ratliff and Ralph "Eddie" Ratliff.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Everett Earl Anderson, Sr., whom she married on August 14, 1965; seven grandchildren, Josh (Jennifer) Anderson, Jami Anderson, Jordan Anderson, Jarred Anderson, Nautica Anderson, Aidan Anderson, Heath Anderson; and four great grandchildren, James, Jackson, and Jacob Anderson; and Cori James.
Other survivors include her sister, Louella Ratliff Lewis of Hillsboro; three brothers, William (Lynda) Ratliff of New Castle, Indiana, Gary Ratliff (Teresa) of Flemingsburg, and Michael (Ginger) Ratliff of Ackworth, Georgia; two daughters-in-law, Connie Reeves Anderson of Fleming County and Connie Richmond Anderson, of Bowling Green; and a special niece, Marissa Ratliff Hancock (Dewayne) of Georgetown, KY. She is also lovingly remembered by other nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A gracious homemaker, Judy was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Judy found great joy in spending time with her family hosting cookouts, holiday meals and traveling to various parks and country music concerts with her husband. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Judy was gifted at decorating her home inside and out and enjoyed shopping for all her loved ones.
She worked outside the home with a career in retail management for companies such as Sears, Maloney's, and Hills Department Stores, and was a former personal care assistant for nursing home residents in Marion, Indiana, and Flemingsburg. Judy also worked alongside her husband as caretakers of the Campbell Mountain Girl Scout Camp in Hillsboro, along with providing nanny services to many children in the Lexington area.
A devoted follower of Christ, Judy held membership to the Hillsboro Christian Church and found peace in trusting Jesus on a daily basis. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a. m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Grimes officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday June 7, 2025, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road,
Hillsboro, KY 41049.
