A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025,
at Fellowship Baptist Church in Athens, Texas, with Bro. Mike Dean officiating.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
- 2 Timothy 4:7
Judy Kay (Carroll) Crutchfield was born on December 8, 1955, in Athens, Texas,
to George Walter Carroll and Mina Mae (Goodell) Carroll.
She was a proud graduate of Athens High School and attended
El Centro College in Dallas and Tyler Junior College.
Judy devoted 15 years of her life as a paraprofessional at Mabank Intermediate School,
where she dearly loved the children and staff she worked with.
She later retired from Mabank ISD.
A devoted member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Athens,
Judy also enjoyed cooking, collecting antiques-especially the red dishes
made the year she was born-and reading cookbooks.
Judy loved nothing more than spending time with her family,
especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Meme."
Known for her spitfire personality, sharp wit, and love of fun,
Judy brought laughter and joy to everyone she met.
She especially cherished time with her sister, Cissy-whether on trips to Colorado,
shopping, or simply enjoying each other's company.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters-in-law, Patsy Carroll and Annette Carroll;
and brother-in-law, Michael Locke.
Judy is survived by her children, Stormy Ogden and husband Darin of Witter, Arkansas;
Brandy Cox and husband Clay of De Berry; John Crutchfield of Jacksonville;
and adopted son, George Crutchfield of Eustace.
She is also survived by her siblings, Jimmie Carroll of Sugarland, Freddie Carroll of McKinney,
and Ramona "Cissy" Locke of Lubbock; grandchildren, Courtney Nava and husband Austin,
Dustin Ellis, Jessica Ogden, Tyler Ogden, Jacey Roper, Josey Roper, Braxton Cox and wife Cassie,
and Kaylee Cox; great-grandchildren, Kingston, William, Aron, Princeton, Marleigh, Bellamy,
Gunner, and Grant; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare staff of UT Health Carthage
and 1st Choice Hospice for the compassionate care provided during Judy's final days.
In her final hours, she was surrounded by love.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
