Judy Warix Obituary

Judy Ann Warix, age 77 of Eldred passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Jersey Community Hospital. She was born September 16, 1947 in Pittsfield, the daughter of Dorne Bean and Edna Holland. She married Jerome Matthews and he preceded her in death. She later married Donald Warix and he preceded her in death August 15, 2011.
She is survived by her children, William Matthews of Eldred, Michael (Becky Lund) Matthews of St. Charles, MO, Krista (Benji) "Warix" Flatt of Carrollton. Her grandchildren, Shawn (Kacy) Matthews, William Matthews, Jennifer (Joe) Tankersley, Anlyn and Behlyn Flatt, seven great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Curtis, T.J., Grayson, Oakley, Beckett, Daylan; two sisters, Beatrice "Jeri" (John) Patton of Jerseyville, Janet Triefenbach of Chesterfield, MO, two brothers, William E. "Junior." (Violet) Clendenny of Jerseyville, Joe Clendenny of Bone Terre, MO, a half-brother, Jeff (Kay) Clendenny of East Alton, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, James "Jim" Clendenny, a two step brothers, Sonny and Ernie McKenney, and a step sister, Janice Smith.
Judy worked at Columbiana for several years; she worked at many different restaurants as a waitress and cook. In her later years she worked alongside of her husband for Everlast Pest Control in Alton. Every time she walked into a room she had a smile on her face. She knew everyone and never knew a stranger. Her family was her everything, she loved being with them. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, mushrooming, canning, playing Bunco, Yellowstone, country music, and Conway Twitty. She loved to watch her grandchildren and going to anything they were a part of. She was a member of the Eldred American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
A celebration of life services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton with burial to follow in Eldred Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Eldred American Legion. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
