Junior Bearden Obituary
Junior C. Bearden, 97, of Stafford County, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Walhalla, SC, Junior served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his service, he worked as a mechanic for General Motors for 45 years, earning a reputation for his skill, reliability, and work ethic. He was a longtime resident of Fredericksburg and an active member of the Fredericksburg Eagles, where he formed lasting friendships and gave back to the community he loved.
Survivors include his daughter, Victoria Bearden Thacker (James); grandson, James Thacker III (Sarah); great-grandsons, Hunter Thacker and Aiden Torreyson (Bri). He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Layton Bearden; and son, Douglas Bearden.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr Bearden put a new transmission in a Ford Falcon for me. He was honest and personable. Truly a good man. While I am sorry to read of his passing, I am glad he lived such a long life.
