Karen Joy Greenlee Cash passed away on July 6, 2025, at Baptist Health in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Karen was the second of seven children born to Bill and Verna (Yancey) Greenlee on November 16, 1958.
Karen was a 1977 graduate of Northside High School and a graduate of Arkansas State University. She was employed by Sparks Regional Medical Center for 30 plus years, starting in medical records, was a census clerk and then a medical coder when she left. She then worked from home for several years coding medical records.
She was an Assistant Girl Scout Leader for her niece's troop. She was a long time member of the Buzzards Bowling Club of Fort Smith- Hanging Judge Chapter. She was a woman, sister, wife aunt and friend that will be very missed, forever loved and never forgotten. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Karen was an avid supporter of her siblings, her nieces and her nephews throughout the years. Being the second born, she helped her parents and big sister Cindy with the five younger children. She attended a lot of softball, basketball, baseball, football games and track meets. There were band concerts, choir concerts, school performances, Girl Scout camp outs, cookie sales and trips she enjoyed.
Karen and Stan were married September 11, 2010, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They competed locally and at bowling tournaments out of state. The love they shared will continue forever.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents- Bill and Verna (Yancey) Greenlee; Maternal Grandparents, Jack and Aron Yancey; Paternal Grandparents H.L. and Lura (Fentress) Greenlee, step grandmother Sue Yancey, mother and father-in-law, Dennis and Wanda Cash and sister-in-law Karen V. Cash.
Karen is survived by her husband Stanley A. Cash; five sisters, Cindy Hancock and Kelly Greenlee of Little Rock, Arkansas, Lorie (Rick) Dotson, Teresa (Todd) Hesselberth, of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Stacey (James) Collins of Springdale, AR. One Brother, Keith Greenlee of Fort Smith, AR; and one brother-in-law Reiny Cash of Branson, MO. Karen is also survived by four nieces and five nephews: Rachel (Hunter) Reeves of Van Buren, AR; Emiliee Collins of Springdale, AR; Kristen and Kendra Cash of Branson, MO; Jamie (Tammy) Greenlee of Hartford, AR; Capt. Micheal (Christina) Dotson of Fort Sill, OK; Bryce (Olivia) Collins of McKinney, TX; Conner Greenlee of Little Rock; and Kelvin Cash of Branson, MO; one great niece and great nephew, Matilda and Stryker Reeves; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
A visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9,2025, at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Her funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with an internment into the Fort Smith National Cemetery to follow. The officiant will be Preacher Bill Fink of Central Christian Church. The family asks that all bowling friends and team members wear their team shirts at the funeral.
