Karol Jean (Miller) Havel was born on July 24, 1944, to Verle and Twila Miller. Karol married Edward L. Havel on July 21, 1962, in Atwood, Kansas. After moving around for a few years, they finally settled in Chase County Nebraska. They loved to work around cattle. Karol worked in the Chase County Hospital Kitchen for 18 years then retired and moved to Benkelman after her husband died. Karol passed away on May 29th, 2025, at the age of 80 years old.
Survivors are Kathy and Robert Sramek, Brenda Hopkins, Brian Havel, Julie and Bob Cerv, brother Verle Miller Jr. and sister Barb Naaz. There are 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Karol was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sister Sandra Combs, brother Donald Miller, brother John Miller, and grandson Travis Havel.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday June 6, 2025 at 10:00 MT at the Benkelman Memorial Chapel with a viewing one hour prior to the service with Pastor Jim Gleason officiating. Interment to follow at Benkelman Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Benkelman Senior Center.
Arrangement entrusted to Liewer Funeral Home & Benkelman Memorial Chapel.
