Katherine Anne "Kitsy" Baker, (formally Roch), 68, of Canton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, surrounded by family and friends and the love she so generously shared throughout her life.
Kitsy was born on April 19, 1956, in Potsdam, upstate New York. She was raised in the small town of Pitman, New Jersey, by her parents, Dr. John and Katherine Roch, and grew up as the youngest of 5 children. She graduated from Pitman High School in New Jersey, where she was a popular student, played on the tennis team, and was an accomplished gymnast. Kitsy furthered her education at Assumption College in Worcester. After graduating from Assumption College, Kitsy made Massachusetts her home, building a life filled with love and laughter alongside her husband, Russell, and their son, Kyle. She was a devoted mother, supporting Kyle's athletic endeavors and creating a warm and welcoming home. Professionally, she managed several dental offices in the Boston area, where her leadership and genuine care for others were deeply valued.
Kitsy loved life and lived it to the fullest. She made friends easily and stayed in touch with those friends throughout her life. Kitsy's zest for life was contagious. She spent 30 years on the "Shades" coed softball team, embraced artistic pursuits like glass blowing and painting, and was a gifted cook who loved to entertain Her super bowl parties were legendary, whether the Patriots won or not. She also cherished travel, exploring the world with family and friends. But it was the simple moments at her family's seaside Cape May home, with the sound of the waves and the company of loved ones that truly brought her peace.
Kitsy is survived by her husband, Russell Baker; her son, Kyle Baker and his partner Casey Welch and her siblings: Joanne Roch and Joseph Roch of Belvidere, New Jersey; John Roch and his wife, Paula Renaud of Stoughton, Mass. and their children, Kristian and Elizabeth; and Michael Roch and wife, Gail, Griffith of Mendham Borough, New Jersey, and their children, Caroline and Alex. She is also survived by her sister in law, Carol Sullivan and her husband David and their children Garrett and Brittany, and by her brother-in-law, Jay Baker, and his children Jessica Massadi and Aubrey Baker. She is predeceased by her parents.
Kitsy Baker lived a life full of purpose, joy, and love. Her calm, brave, and reassuring manner was an inspiration to all and her memory will be treasured forever.
A funeral service will be held at Dockray & Thomas Funeral home on Saturday, March 22nd at noon. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service, starting at 11 a.m.

My condolences to the entire Roch family. Growing up in Pitman, I was fortunate to know Kitsy and her parents and siblings. Her brother, John, was in my class at PHS. She was a lively person who spread good cheer wherever she went. RIP
