Katherine M Horvath

December 28, 1949 - July 13, 2025

Katherine M. Horvath RN (Kathie) peacefully passed on the morning of Sunday July, 13th, 2025. She was born in St. Cloud Minn. on December 28, 1949 to Anthony & Deloris Volkmuth. Kathie is survived by husband Ron, sisters Mary & Mark Arnold, Carol & Loren Zintec, Patty & Jim Zerbies, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family. Kathie was an ICU RN at Neb Medical Center Omaha for 35+ yrs and started in NICU at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo North Dakota. Kathie and Ron were married for 50+ years. She was a long time volunteer at St. Pius X Church and other organizations. She loved her families and friends, reading, baking, crosswords, Jeopardy, traveling, and last but not least, Light Houses. Memorials to Human Needs at St. Pius X Omaha or to the American Cancer Society. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 19 at St.Pius X Catholic Church, 6905 Blondo St. Omaha, Ne. 68104.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kathie's family at this difficult time. I was blessed to work with Kathie at UNMC for 10 years and always appreciated her confident and skilled leadership, and fun personality. May she rest in peace!

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Kathie“s passing. She and I worked together in the ICU. What a wonderful person. I am privileged to have known her.
