Katherine Elizabeth Shannon, 87, a homemaker, died Monday, July 14, 2025, at Baptist Medical Center-Leake.
Visitation is 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Wilcox Funeral Home. Services are 10:00 am on Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the Wilcox Chapel with Bro. Jeff Sullivan officiating. Interment is in the Good Hope Cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Shannon, a native of Edinburg, was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World.
Preceding her in death were: her husband James E. Shannon; parents, J. P. and Jessie McGriff Barfoot; 2 sisters, Tommie Jean Barfoot and Diane Chatman.
Survivors include a son, Ricky Shannon (Teresa) of Good Hope; 2 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Pallbearers are Andy Shannon, Dusty Shannon, Jeffery Runnels, Jeremy Runnels, Ronnie Williamson, and Donnie Thweatt.
Honorary pallbearers are Mark Williamson, Timothy Shannon, Daniel Shannon, Noah Thweatt, and Tommie Chatman.
