Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” Smith, age 76, a resident of the Pine Orchard Community of Oakdale, Tennessee was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at her home. Kathy was born on July 2, 1949, in Rockwood, Tennessee to James “Joe” & Ethel Collett. She was a retired Beautician and Cosmetologist, and in her free time, quilting was her passion. She dearly loved all of her family and was deeply loved by them, and had a special bond with her siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, James “Joe” & Ethel Collett; husband, Benton Smith; daughter, Amy Smith; and brothers, James “Eddie” Collett and Ronald “Wayne” Collett.
Survivors include:
Children: Chris (Barbara) Diamond
Gregory (Valerie) Smith
Todd (April) Smith
Grandchildren: Joshua (Marli) Smith, Michael Diamond, Jared Smith, Keri (Nathaniel) Livengood, Carlie Smith, Hunter Diamond, Brianna Smith, Sarah Smith, and Rachel Smith
Brothers: Kenneth (Jackie) Collett
Kerry Collett
Calvin (Lisa) Collett
Sister: Lisa Collett
Sisters-in-law: Christine (Randy) Chapman
Kay (Tim) Johnson
And a host of Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Other Relatives and Friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Private interment will be held in the Pine Orchard Cemetery (new section) in Oakdale, Tennessee. Evans Morturay of Rockwood, Tennessee is serving the family of Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” Smith
