Kathie was born on July 8, 1961 in Greeley, CO. She was the beloved daughter of Wayne and Anne Sodman, along with her three siblings Ellie, Tim, and Kelly.
Kathie grew up in Greeley and later attended the University of Northern Colorado. While there, she attended a social gathering at neighboring Colorado State University where she met her life partner, David "Dave" Weiderspon, whom she was with for 44 years and married to for over 39 years. They were married at St. Mary's Catholic church in Greeley, CO on August 23, 1986 and together they shared three wonderful children; Matthew "Matt", Zachary "Zach", and Austin.
Kathie and Dave lived and worked together operating White Bluffs Veterinary Hospital in Sidney. Kathie became certified as a Veterinary Radiology Technician and oversaw the grooming operations while assisting with other day-to-day operations. She and Dave truly valued each other's companionship as there was seldom a day they were not together. Together they loved interacting with others and would often meet friends or family to celebrate.
She was a self-described social butterfly that could connect with strangers on the street and start a conversation. She loved getting to know people. When she and Dave went on a vacation, it was not uncommon for her to come back and share that they made two or three new friends from all over the world.
However, it was her family that she held dearest. She held a special place in her heart for family. From her siblings to her sisters & brother-in-law, she always cared deeply about those closest to her.
Her pride and joy were her three sons, Matt, Zach, and Austin and their families. She loved talking with them or about them to others. Her daughter-in laws were extremely special to her. She never missed a birthday or an anniversary and one of her proudest moments was becoming a grandparent or "Gigi" to Ariah, Lincoln, and Avery with additional twins on the way. Kathie cherished reading to and playing with her grandchildren. She would often take them to the park multiple times a day to play, stopping only for juice and a muffin break. When apart, her grandkids frequently requested to know. "When we can go to Gigi's and ride in Grandpa's truck?!"
She will be loved and missed dearly by her friends and family.
Kathie is survived by her husband, Dave; their children Matt (Dima) Weiderspon, Zach (Kharesa) Weiderspon, and Austin (Hannah) Weiderspon; her grandchildren Ariah, Lincoln, Avery, and twins on the way; her father Wayne Sodman; her bothers Tim Sodman, Kelly (Eva) Sodman; her mother-in-law Gloria Weiderspon; her brother-in-law Dale (Karen) Weiderspon; her sister-in-law Rhonda (Ellis) Boyd, her nephews Wayne J. Sodman, Derek (Michaela) Weiderspon, Luke (Mariah) Weiderspon, Mark Boyd; her niece Raquel (Chance) Schenk; and other extended family.
She is preceded in death by her mother Anne Sodman; her sister Ellie Sodman; and her father-in-law Richard Weiderspon.

I´m so sad to see this news about Kathie. We had so much fun growing up together and all the fun we had with sleep overs at my house.
I was honored to be a bridesmaid in her wedding.
You will be missed by so many and I´ll miss the FB post and chats we had.
RIP my friend.
