Kathleen L. Copes, of Chesaning, Michigan, died on July 6, 2025.
She was born in Owosso, Michigan on April 2, 1959 to Rene and Mary (Gerding) Copes. Kathy was an upbeat, funny, and happy individual, often being the life of the party.
Kathy graduated from Chesaning High School with the class of 1977. After school, she became a production worker in the automotive industry and retired from General Motors. She had an immense love for animals, especially her beloved cats and dogs. She had a keen interest in nature and enjoyed going for walks. She also possessed a large Flintstone collection.
She is survived by her loving mother, Mary Copes; siblings, Victoria (James) Griffin, Joe (Kris) Copes, John (Tammy) Copes, Dennis (Amy) Copes, Dan (Patti) Copes and Christopher Copes; 11 nieces and nephews; 6 great nieces and nephews; as well as many other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rene Copes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at St. Peter Catholic Parish in Chesaning, Michigan. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Memorial contributions made in Kathleen's name are suggested to The Shiawassee Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
