Kathryn “Katie” Hoteling, age 48, of Milan, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Unity Point Health, Rock Island. A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Rock Island Boat Club, 1706 Mill Street West, Rock Island. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities, with burial at Rock Island National Cemetery.
Katie was born on November 30, 1976, in Rock Island, to Ronald Duncalf and Mary Brock. She was united in marriage to Gary Osborne from 1997 to 2000. She later married Don hoteling on April 29, 2003 in Aledo. Katie worked for 20 years in healthcare, with REM, ARC of the Quad Cities and later at Friendship Manor.
Katie loved taking rides with Don on the motorcycle and riding in her son’s Nova. She also loved to read, drink, and spend time with her loved ones. Katie absolutely loved her dog Sadie as they were partners in crime. She also loved her “grandkid”, Marley Mae which was her oldest son’s dog.
Katie is survived by her husband, Don; children, Zachery Osborne (Teaira Williams), Austin Hoteling (Emily Smith), and Hunter Hoteling (Lexi Mikulak); Don’s kids, Eric Larson (Michelle), Jayson Hoteling (Denise), and Sean Hoteling (Joie); grandchildren, Maxwell Hoteling, Felicity Hoteling, Kira Larson, Evalynn Larson, Hazel Larson, and Nico Brown; siblings; Rachael, Brandy, Sarah, and Rick; and an uncle, Chuck (Karen) Brock.
Katie was preceded in death by her mother Mary in 2015, and grandfather in 2024, and uncle Brian.
