Kathy J. Logsdon, 60, of Alexis, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with ALS.
She was born on May 21, 1965 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Jerry L. and Patricia P. (Pate) Sloss. Kathy was raised and educated in rural Monmouth and graduated from Warren High School in 1983.
Kathy married David Logsdon on May 2, 1987, in Kirkwood, Illinois. They shared a loving marriage of 38 years, and he survives her.
For the past 24 years, Kathy dedicated her time and talents to Tara Spa Therapy, where she served as both a manager and a valued team member. Over the years, she also contributed her skills at OSF Holy Family Medical Center and at the accounting firm of Cavanaugh, Davies, Blackman & Cramblet, CPAs in Monmouth.
Kathy found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She cherished attending their events and celebrating their accomplishments, always present with unwavering love and support. Kathy’s strength in the face of ALS inspired all who knew her, she embraced each day with grace and courage.
Surviving Kathy is her husband, Dave Logsdon of Alexis, IL; her children, Kylie (Cody Potts) Logsdon of Knoxville, IL, Dustin (Chelsea) Logsdon of Little York, IL; her grandchildren, Devin Anthony, Owen Logsdon, and Ensley Logsdon. Also surviving is her sister, Tara (Eric) Hanson of Galesburg, IL; her brother, Brian L. (Johanna) Sloss of Stevens Point, WI; mother-in-law, Betty Logsdon of Monmouth, IL, and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Robert Logsdon; her aunts, Doris (Larry) Dye, Virginia (Bill) Smith; uncles, Jim Pate, Leroy McMahill; Tammi Hottle and several other cousins.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Lenox-Union Cemetery, Warren County, IL. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Memorials can be made to the Kathy Logsdon Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
