Born on January 10, 1957, in Marshalltown, Kathy was the beloved daughter of Richard and Jeanne Sharer. She grew up in Rhodes and later made her home in Marshalltown. A proud graduate of West Marshall High School in State Center, Kathy went on to build a dedicated career at Lennox Industries in Marshalltown, where she was a loyal and hardworking employee.
Kathy had a zest for life and a kind, generous heart. She loved playing softball and golf, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, spending time with friends, and caring for animals of all kinds. Her compassion extended to her work as a patient advocate at South Ridge nursing home in Marshalltown, where she made a meaningful impact in the lives of many.
Kathy is survived by her mother, Jeanne Sharer; her brother, Jeff (Verna) Sharer; her nieces, Jenna Sharer-Klumpp (Ian Klumpp) and Rachel (Rodney) Henderson; her great-nieces, Rivi Henderson and Daisy Klumpp; and her great-nephew, Rhodes Henderson. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her sharp wit, big heart, and unwavering loyalty.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a local animal shelter in her honor.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
