Kay D. Kennedy, 89 of Industry, IL passed away July 13, 2025. He was born July 30, 1935, in Rochelle, IL the son of the late Dale and Luzetta Plate Kennedy. He married Shirley Ann Murfin on April 20, 1958, at the Adair Methodist Church in Adair, IL. She passed away April 8, 2022. Kay is survived by his daughter, Susan Kennedy of Industry, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; (1) daughter Kimberly A. Kennedy; (1) brother, Loren Kennedy and his stepmother, Merri Pickard Kennedy. Kay graduated from VIT high school in 1953 and then went on to Western Illinois University where he received his bachelor's degree in 1957. He started his career as an Engineer for Ken Ray in Vermont, IL and then at Fiber Steel Astoria. While working he farmed part-time on the family farm and farmed full-time starting in 1970. He was a life-time member of the Farm Bureau and a member of the Industry United Methodist Church. As per his wishes there will be no services. Memorials may be given to the Industry Fire Department or the Schuyler Humane Society
