Kay Murray, age 76 of Mt Juliet, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at her home. She was born on November 17, 1948 in Fullerton, CA to the late Jack & Catherine Trail. Kay graduated from Fullerton High School in 1965 and then went on to become a dental assistant. In 1970 she and some friends took a boat to Catalina Island in California. It was there she met the love of her life, Robert Murray. They were united in marriage on September 4, 1971 and at the time of her death, they had celebrated 53 years of marriage.
They lived in California for 41 years until they decided to move to Tennessee to enjoy a quieter lifestyle and see their grandchildren grow. While in California, Kay was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom. She was very active in her kid's schools, where she served on the PTO and was a Girl Scout leader for many years. One thing Kay absolutely loved to do was to help anyone who needed anything. Kay was a devoted Christian and you could see her counseling youth struggling to get through things, helping her friends with her kind advice and opening her home to those who needed that "extra bedroom". She remained steadfast in her faith to the very end, ministering to those around her in need, teaching them to lean on the Lord.
Kay is survived by her husband, Robert Murray along with their children, Melinda and her husband Josh Giles and Alison Murray & fiancé Shane Good. She is also survived by her two cherished grandchildren, Kaylee and Tristan, her brothers John Trail and Garry Trail, sister & brother in laws along with many nieces & nephews and friends that turned in to family!
A private family gathering was held on June 12, 2025 will honor her life and legacy per her wishes.
