Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Hartley, 86, of Carthage, Texas will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025, in the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Scott and Rev. William Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Center Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Friday night at Hawthorns.
Mr. Kenneth Loyd Hartley was born November 21, 1938, in the Old Center Community of Panola County, Texas. He passed this life July 8, 2025, at his Carthage home. Kenneth was one of two children born to the marriage of Lula Mae Roe and Bob Arvin Hartley. He was raised and schooled in Carthage.
Mr. Hartley spent his career in construction as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. Kenneth loved the outdoors, working in the yard, hunting, fishing, gardening and playing on the backhoe. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Candice Ann Hartley Evans and a brother-in-law, Travis Campbell.
Mr. Hartley is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Doris Hartley of Carthage; beloved daughter, Tanya Renee Hartley Carroll of Carthage; son-in-law Val Evans of Carthage; sister, Joann Boyd; grandchildren, Brenton Carroll and wife Christy of Carthage, Kristan Carroll Perez and husband Andrew of Carthage, Channing Evans of Woods Community, McKenny Evans and wife Bailey of Carthage, great grandchildren, Brynlee, Blakey, Blyss, Noah, Gabriella; other family members and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be, McKenny Evans, Brenton Carroll, Noah Sonnier, Clayton Hicks, Weslee Hoell, Andrew Perez, Johnny Yates, Delton Lamborn, Jonathon Lamborn, Tom Hartley, Derek Yates and Ryan Hartley.
