Kenneth Wayne Kommes, 67, a resident of Tapiola, passed away on May 24th, 2025, at UP Health System - Marquette.
He was born January 28, 1958. in Hancock, Michigan to the late Waino and Lorraine (Tuohimaa) Kommes. After graduating from Houghton High School, Ken spent several years in New Hampshire and Louisiana working as a machinist and truck driver. He returned to live in Keweenaw Bay, then the family home in Tapiola. Ken last worked at Calumet Machine in Calumet. He was also a member of the Otter Lake Sportsman's Club.
Ken is survived by his sisters, Virginia Martinson of Commerce Township, Michigan and Doreen (Dirk) Dagenais of Midland, Michigan.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held later this summer in Tapiola, Michigan.
