Kenneth Wayne Powley, 91, of Prince Frederick, MD, passed away on June 22, 2025 at Solomons Nursing Center.
Born September 3, 1933 in Granville, WV, he was the son of the late Arley Duard Powley and Mamie Mary J. (Lotwis) Powley.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Army from December 8, 1953 until November 23, 1955. He and his wife Shirley moved to Bowie, MD in 1960 where he started a T.V. repair business. Kenneth was part owner of Powell T.V. He was an avid golfer and played many sports growing up in Westover, WV. Kenneth also enjoyed being "Poppy" to his grandchildren and cheering them on at their sports events.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Kerry Hardy (Jim) of Huntingtown, MD and Kim Johnson (Ed) of Port Republic, MD; his grandchildren, Nicholas Hardy (Shawn), Savannah Hardy Jackson (Trey), Marshall Hardy (Lacey), Russell Johnson, Paul Johnson, Riley Ann Johnson, Travis McDaniel, and Sam McDaniel; his great-grandchildren, Lillian and Gemma Johnson, Jackson Hardy, Blake Hardy, Sloane Jackson and Koa Hardy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Powley; his daughter Kelly McDaniel; and his siblings, Eugene Powley, Arlene Powley, and Alvin Powley.
