Kevin Louis Meany was born on August 27, 1955. Following a brief but courageous battle with cancer, he was called by his Lord to his eternal home on July 14, 2025.
He was the youngest of five sons. His parents were Dr. Robert and Doris Meany, who preceded him in death, along with his brother Robert.
Kevin attended Mendel Catholic High School in Chicago and graduated from Lincoln Way in New Lenox. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in English Composition from Roosevelt University, in addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Indiana. He also received his Master of Arts in Political Science from Roosevelt University. He wrote a book, on terrorism for his Master's Degree. The book remains in the library of Roosevelt University.
Kevin was a litigations paralegal for fifteen years in Chicago. He later joined the boilermakers' union and was an Operating Engineer at the John Hancock building in Chicago and various hotels. He was in charge of maintenance at the historic Givin's Irish Castle. He created a not-for-profit corporation called Appolonian Society, which transformed dilapidated buildings into places for local artists to display their work in the Beverly neighborhood near the castle. He also began KLM Enterprise, a vending route between Tinley Park and Morris. Later, he worked for the First Presbyterian Church of Morris and Ace Hardware.
On November 11, 2006, Kevin married Brigitte Lynn. She survives him. Also surviving are brothers, Thomas, Joseph, and Mark.
Kevin asked that we remember that he dearly loved his wife Brigitte and his family and friends. Nature captured his interest. He loved reading, classical music, and writing, even composing poetry, some of which was published. Kevin believed all that he achieved was the result of his relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Memorial gifts may be made to the donor's choice.

To know Kevin was to be blessed. After reading his obituary it is obvious
He was the most humble man I have ever known. His beloved wife lives
9 houses away from me. That is how I came to know them. They also
Loved my Down Syndrome son who was a frequent visitor to their
Home because his precious wife trimmed my son´s fingernails. May
The Dear Lord comfort his Dearest wife on her journey of grief. In
The Mighty Name of Jesus.
