LaDonna Kaye Roewert was called to her Eternal Home by Jesus in the early morning hours of January 28, 2025, at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek.
LaDonna was born to Herman and Arlene (Kort) Buckendahl on December 19, 1946, in Pierce, NE, and was baptized into Christ on December 29, 1946. LaDonna was confirmed on March 26, 1961, at St. John Lutheran Church in Battle Creek, and on December 21, 1974, she married Dennis L. Roewert at the same church.
Dennis and LaDonna lived in many places throughout their marriage, including the following cities in Nebraska: Pierce, Battle Creek, Fremont, and Omaha. They also lived in Arlington, TX, Roswell, GA, Crystal Lake, IL, and Conway, AR.
LaDonna was an active LCMS church member (The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod) in every city she and Dennis lived. She was always volunteering at her church and serving joyfully with a quick, "You betcha" and a big smile.
LaDonna was a woman of many, many talents. She studied and graduated from Norfolk Beauty College, Norfolk, NE and spent 25 years as a hair stylist. She was a property manager for apartment complexes in Texas and Georgia and spent many years caring for children who loved her as much as she loved them. LaDonna loved to paint and bake and especially enjoyed trying new recipes on her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; siblings, Shirley (Arlan) Warneke of Pierce, Janell (Tom) Anderson of Fremont, Ronald Buckendahl of Battle Creek, and Robert (Suzanne) Buckendahl of Battle Creek; and many nieces and nephews, relatives and loved sisters and brothers in Christ.
LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Keith Buckendahl; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Bud Klug; sister, Patricia Buckendahl; and sister-in-law, Sharon Buckendahl.
In honor of LaDonna, memorials may be made to Lutheran High Northeast, Norfolk, Nebraska.
