It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Larry Wayne Taylor, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend. Larry passed away on June 29th, 2025.
Born and raised in Kosciusko, Mississippi, Larry was the son of the late Calvin and Hazel Taylor. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he demonstrated courage, strength, and unwavering loyalty to his fellow soldiers. His service remained a point of pride throughout his life.
After returning home, Larry dedicated himself to his family and his community. He went on to retire from Amax Metals Recovery.
He was the proud father of Janene, Trent, Christine, and Jonathan, and grandfather to Austyn, Mason, Braden, Charlie, Nicholas, and Parker, each of whom brought joy and pride to his life.
An avid outdoorsman, Larry found peace and purpose in nature. Whether it was hunting in the early morning light, fishing, or simply walking through the woods, the outdoors was his sanctuary. He passed that love on to those around him, teaching them patience, respect for the land, and the value of being still and present.
He leaves behind his wife, Janice Gonzales Taylor. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Anthony Libasci.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 44, Kosciusko, MS, in honor of Larry's service.
