Larry Lavern Wells, 86 of Dover, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Riverbend Health and Rehabilitation in Lexington, MO surrounded by his loving family.
Larry’s family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice. Larry was born on September 5, 1939, in Bethel, Kansas to Vernon Ray and Sarah Charlene (Couchman) Wells. He graduated in 1958 from Lexington High School in Lexington, MO. On May 29, 1959, Larry was united in marriage to Joyce Lee Pangborn. She preceded him in death. Larry retired from the General Motors Leeds Plant in Kansas City, MO after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Sons of The American Revolution and UAW Local 93. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and arrowhead hunting.
Larry is survived by two children, Daniel Wells (Tana) of Lexington, MO and Bobbie Jo (Jerry) Poese of Concordia, MO; four grandchildren, Angela Turner and fiancé Chris Bennett of Richmond, MO, Jeffrey Johnson and fiancé Leslie McNelly of Hardin, MO, Drake (Diana) Wells of Grain Valley, MO, and Ryan (Sarah) Poese of Odessa, MO; twelve great grandchildren, Shalynn, Kristen, Kurtis, Mylah, Enzo, Natalie, Abby, Cam, Luke, Braxton, Wagner, and Scarlett; three great-great grandchildren, Emberlynn, Everhett, and baby Dauma on the way; one sister, Majorie (Thomas) Young of Dalton, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Larry was preceded in death by three children, Cheryl Wells, Charles Wells, and David Wells; a sister, Joan Smith; and a brother, Carl Ray Wells.
