BEAVER DAM – Lattie D. Thomas, 88, of Beaver Dam, passed away July 2nd, 2025 at Ohio County Hospital. He was born in Holland, Kentucky on September 22nd, 1936 to the late Lazarus and Mervin Johnson Thomas.
Lattie was retired from Southdown Rock Quarry. He was a charter member of Pathway Missionary Baptist Church and he taught Sunday school for 60 years. He was devoted to his family and serving the Lord. He spent many years singing gospel music with the Thomas Quartet. He ran a guitar hobby shop for over 25 years where he made great friendships. Anytime the opportunity presented itself, he made sure others knew about their salvation.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Louise Francis, Joe Thomas, Lee Thomas, Homer Thomas, Bennie Thomas and a set of twins; and his son, Jeff Thomas.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Joan Mays Thomas; son, Stacy Thomas; daughter, Karen Ann (John) Chinn; grandchildren, Jonica (Josh) Lellie, Lydia Thomas and Draven Hill; and great-grandchildren, J.D. Lellie and Anna Rose Lellie.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 5th, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Buck Daugherty presiding. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Ohio County Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to bevilbrosfuneralhomes.com.
