Lawrence Rodney Gordon, lovingly known as "Rod," passed away peacefully after a brief but courageous battle with lung cancer on July 24, 2025. Born on February 25, 1953, in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Rod was a lifelong resident and a beloved member of the community of Tulare he proudly called home. Rod's life was defined by hard work, humility, and unwavering devotion to his family. Rod was the proud son of Wally and Nellie Gordon. Loving brother of Rick Gordon, and son-in-law to Tom Wallace, all who have preceded him in death. He is survived by his cherished wife, Vicki Gordon; mother-in-law, Alice Wallace; loving brother Dennis Gordon; his children, Ryan Gordon, Ashley Mattos (Kevin), and Bryce Philpot (Aubrey); and his adored grandchildren, Chelsea Gordon, Rhett Mattos, Margot Mattos, Sawyer Mattos, and Beau Mattos. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved and admired him dearly. Rod carried on with his family legacy through Gordon's Electric, a cornerstone business in Tulare known for its reliability, service, and the personal touch that came from generations of care. Although many will remember him for his warm greeting or his booming laugh while visiting Gordon's Electric; in retirement, one of Rod's greatest joys was being a grandfather. He treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren and took immense pride in watching them grow. His love for them was boundless, and they brought him immeasurable happiness and comfort. Rod will be remembered for his warm heart, quiet strength, and a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence will be missed by many, but his legacy of love, service, and community will live on through the lives he touched. We invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life as we honor and remember a beautiful soul who touched so many lives. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, 11:00 a.m. at Tulare First Assembly of God 316 S. Mooney Blvd, Tulare, CA. Come share memories, laughter, and love.

Remembering wonderful memories of growing up on the 600 block of North O Street. There had to be at least 40 kids on our block alone. At that time, we all knew you as "Skeeter", a name you strongly advised me not to call you when I entered high school in 1969. Years later, when replacing my Moms chest freezer, we had a really nice visit. It was so good to see you. Sending my sincere condolences to your family and friends. Rest in Peace, friend
