Visitation for Lawrence Nohr, 97, of Palatine, will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM until time of the Funeral Service at 12:30 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine. The Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
Larry was born on July 13, 1927, to Lawrence and Clara Nohr. He passed away on July 1, 2025.
A proud United States Navy veteran, Larry served his country during World War II with honor and dedication.
Larry was a familiar and cherished presence in the Palatine community. He was a regular patron at Lamplighters and P's and Q's, where he formed many lasting friendships over the years. His consistent presence and warm spirit made him a beloved figure among fellow patrons and staff alike.
Larry was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Nohr; Loving father of Thomas Nohr, and the late Lawrence J. Nohr; dear step-father of Peter (Debbie) Moretti, and Victoria (Robert); fond grandfather of Michelle Lee, Janelle Reeves, Tony “Jooch” Moretti and Heather Klinger; cherished great-grandfather of Tommy and Vivian; and dear Uncle of Richie Thomka, Eddie Thomka, Mike Thomka, Bob, Thomka. He is also survived by his cousins, Jimmy Carson, Billy Carson, Marge Nohr (and her children, Diane and Rick).
He was preceded in death by sister, Ruth (Mickey) Thomka; his sister-in-law, Evelyn (Ed) Carson.
