Leaann Garrett Foster, 84, went to join the love of her life in Heaven, October 13, 2025, just in time to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. She was surrounded by her three daughters, their families and many other loved ones showing her love and encouragement as Jesus called her home.
Leaann was born in Austin ,Texas, December 16,1940 to Ernest Lee Garrett and Maurine (Young) Garrett. Leaann was raised in the Urbandale area of Dallas and
was a member of The First Baptist Church of Urbandale. She graduated from W.W. Samuel High School where she was voted The Most Beautiful Girl in her class, a title she served well, both inside and out. Leaann met and fell in love with Donald Wayne Foster while he was in the Air Force, and they married October 14,1960 and at that point she became a true Foster, she was very close to all of Don's family and we had large family get togethers often. Leaann was a homemaker and mother of three girls; she made sure the Foster home was open to everyone. Don and Leaann's home was a gathering place for family and friends and she was always patient, fun, carefree, happy, loving and just the best Mom ever.
Leaann loved golfing, gardening, sewing, cooking, time with family, and traveling, as a matter of fact, there wasn't much that she didn't love or that she
couldn't do; she found joy in everything she did. Many family vacations were spent hunting and camping. Leaann loved playing games and all were well aware of her competitive nature. She was always on the go, shopping, lunching with friends, heading to the casino, it didn't matter where or when, if there was fun to be had, she was there. Most of all, she loved to go to her grandkids activities. She was a proud Memaw.
Leaann was preceded in death by both of her parents, Ernest and Maurine Garrett, and her grandson Grant Combs. She is survived by her three daughters, Lynnette Magnusen, Lorra Wick, husband Harold, Lana Combs, husband Marc, Five grandkids, Jordyn Bass, husband Charles, Josh Ragsdale, Harrison Wick,
Garrett Combs, Grayson Combs, three great-grandchildren, Cason and Cadynce Bass, Elias Evans and a sister Debra Hendley, husband Paul.
Leaann was a member of Faith Temple Baptist Church of Poetry where she was very active and loved her church family very much.
She was an adoring wife, an amazing mom, and an awesome Memaw, She loved the Lord, she loved her family and she loved life. Her bubbly personality, her infectious laughter, her genuine kindness and her loving spirit will live on in our hearts.
