Lucas Funeral Home - HurstLela Aline (Cash) Adams, 84 of Bedford, TX entered eternal rest Wednesday, August 6, 2025. She was born on November 18, 1940, in Lyford, TX, youngest daughter and child of Harvey D. Cash and Retie Ceula (Harris) Cash.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Milton Koen Cash, John Troy Cash, Donald Lavelle Cash, Lyndon Dale Cash, Aaron Lloyd Cash, and sisters Leatha Fay Jeffrey, Eula Loretta Risica, and Wanda LaRee Morrow and husband Larry Earl Adams. Lela is survived by her son Matthew Alan Adams of Bedford, TX.
Lela was the first in her family to graduate college with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Texas A&I University, now Texas A&M at Kingsville. At this time her typing skills were commendable, typing over 109 WPM on an electronic typewriter and 78 WPM on a manual one.
As a high school teacher in Palacios TX, teaching typing and shorthand and other business courses she met the love of her life Larry Adams in 1967. After the birth of their son in 1968, the family moved to El Paso, TX in 1974 where Lela worked for El Paso Community College for 35 years teaching typing, shorthand and eventually keyboarding and word processing.
Upon retiring in 2009 they moved to Beech Grove, TX and eventually to Hurst, TX in 2016 to be closer to their only child/son, celebrating 50 years of marriage in 2017 and living out their lives together until Larry’s death in 2018.
