Mr. Leon Daugherty, age 82, of the Raus Community, passed from this life at his residence on Friday July 11, 2025.
Leon was born on June 3, 1943, in Tullahoma, TN to the late E.B. Daugherty and Geneva Cyree Bouton. He retired food inspector with the USDA and served his country in the US Army. In retirement Leon loved to spend time working in his yard, playing his guitar, and taking care of his Jack Russells.
Survivors include children, Steven (Iryna) Daugherty of Shelbyville, TN, Denise Hershkowitz of Brooksville, FL, Leah Daugherty Mathews of Morrilton, AR; grandchildren, Payton Daugherty, Katie Daugherty, Lev Daugherty of Shelbyville, TN, Allie Daugherty of Knoxville, TN, Jolynn Lorraine of Cabot, AR, Jordan Lorraine, of Kewaunee, WI, Elizabeth Daugherty of Peoria, IL, Tyler Mathews of Morrilton, AR, Leann Jording of Springfield, IL, Alan Mckinney of Meredosia, IL; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grand-child; brothers, Lee Daugherty of the Villages, FL, Carl Daugherty of Knoxville, TN, E.B. Daugherty Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Ethan Daugherty of Knoxville, TN and Ray Bouton of Pekin, IL; sisters, Donna Hittle of Princeville, IL and Lisa Daugherty Racard of Knoxville, TN; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Along with his parents, Leon is preceded in death by his sons, Jamie Daugherty and Timothy Daugherty, and sister, Kay Daugherty Martin.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 4p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Kevin Jones officiating. Following services, Leon's ashes will be interred at Head of Hurricane Cemetery in Moore County.
Visitation with the family will be held 2-4p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the funeral home.
