Faith & Family Funeral Services IncLeonard Thomas “Tom” Grubbs, 78, of Kountze, Texas, passed away on July 10, 2025.
Tom was born on May 26, 1947, to Myrt and Rachel Grubbs. He cherished the simplicity of country life while growing up in Rockdale, TX. Tom went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he worked as a crew chief and door gunner. After returning home, he settled in Silsbee, where he started a family and raised three children. Tom went on to become a dedicated business owner in Silsbee for more than 20 years.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Myrt William Grubbs; his mother, Rachel Bush Grubbs; his son, Trenton Grubbs; his brothers, Edward Grubbs, Joe Grubbs, and Richard Grubbs; his sister, Betty Ruth Alexander; his sister-in-law, Bonnie Grubbs and Edith Grubbs; his brother-in-law, Charlie Schwarz, Loy Alexander, and Carl Shmock.
He is survived by his son, Brady Grubbs and wife Rachel of Lumberton, Texas; his daughter, Lesly Nolen and husband John of Buna, Texas; and two beloved grandchildren, Gavin Hooks and Jack Grubbs.
Tom is also survived by his sisters, Polly Shmock, Bennye Plumlee, and Linda Kieffer and husband John; and his brother, John Grubbs, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Tom was known for his strength, resilience, and loyalty to those he loved. He had a quiet wisdom and a deep appreciation for the simple things in life. Tom had a sharp wit, a generous spirit, and a deep sense of responsibility to his family. His legacy of hard work, service, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on August thirtieth, two thousand twenty-five in, Rockdale, Texas at 11:00AM CST with burial to follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered in recognition of his faithful service to our country.
