Leslie L. Mathies (née Parmeter), 66, of Milan, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
A celebration of Leslie's life will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Trimble Funeral Home.
Born on June 26, 1959, in Burlington, Iowa, to the late Edward Parmeter and Hazel Haviland, Leslie lived a life full of unique passions and cherished relationships. She shared her life with her beloved husband, Hollis Mathies.
Leslie's interests were as vibrant and varied as her personality. She found joy in the quiet moments with a good book and her German Shepherd, the excitement of computer gaming, and the thrill of finding treasures at estate sales and auctions. She loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping, and expressed her creativity through making beautiful homemade soaps and candles. Above all, Leslie will be remembered for her amazing, sarcastic sense of humor that could light up any room and bring laughter to all who knew her.
Her memory is carried on by her loving husband, Hollis; her children, Brandy (Robert) Pauley, Ryan Peterson, and Holli Mathies (Cameron Gardner); her four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her cousin, Randy.
Her witty spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all the lives she touched.
