Mrs. Leslie Lee Tilley, 56, of Jackson, SC, wife of thirty-two years to Jeff Tilley, entered into rest on Sunday, November 17, 2024, in the comfort of her home due to complications of early-onset Alzheimer's.
Born in Hinesville, GA, she lived in Suffolk, VA, until 1990. She graduated from John Yates High School in 1987 and furthered her education by graduating with a BA from Augusta State University.
Leslie was forced into early retirement from the Richmond County School System due to declining health. She absolutely loved her job and the kids she met. Often, she looked out for those who were less fortunate, making sure they had a dress for the prom and a good set of clothes for a job interview.
A devout Christian, she was a very active member of the Jackson Bible Church, where she was very active with the youth activities, including the plays that were put on at the church.
Leslie enjoyed crafting and hosting parties and was an excellent cook. However, she enjoyed nothing better than being with her family. She loved her children as well as the children of others. Let us not forget that she was an avid DAWG fan and could quote team statistics.
In addition to her husband Jeff, Leslie is loved, missed and her memory will always be in the hearts of her mother, Frances Williams; her mother-in-law, Yvonne Tilley, who Leslie thought of as her second mother; children, Nicole Cole, Rachel Tilley and Michelle Baker Tilley, siblings and their spouses, Heather and David Poulson, Tiffany and Darryl Parsons and David and Crystal Williams, grandchildren, C.J. Tilley, Jamey Tilley and let us not forget Alaiya Rae Tilley, who is due in January, nephews and nieces, Corey Poulson, Josh Poulson, Brandon Parsons, Andrew Parsons and his wife, Casey, Brianna Williams and David Williams, as well as several others relatives, her church family, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Leslie Ray Williams.
Friends will be greeted by the family on Saturday, November 23, 2024, beginning at 10 o'clock at Jackson Bible Church, Jackson, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 o'clock at the church. Pastors Isaac and Allen Cantrell will officiate. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Cemetery, Jackson, SC. Serving as pallbearers are Chris Tilley, Brandon Parsons, Andrew Parsons, Corey Poulson, Josh Poulson and Anthony Quinn.
Memorials in memory of Leslie may be made to the Jackson Bible Church. (www.jacksonbiblechurch.com)
