Lewis Locke Obituary

Barrington: Retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant Lewis L. Locke died at the age of 82 on September 1, 2025. He was born in Concord, New Hampshire, the son of Lewis A. Locke and Dorothy Vermette Locke. After his parents divorced, he lived with his foster parents, Warren and Dorothy Parker, of Penacook, NH.

He attended schools in Concord and Penacook, NH. During his senior year in high school, he was a member of the NH Army National Guard. Upon graduation from Penacook High School, he entered the Air Force. He spent 21 years as a canine handler and instructor, as well as other various assignments throughout the world, including two tours in the Republic of Vietnam. While in the Air Force, he took many college courses in law enforcement and criminology. At the end of his Air Force career, Lew worked in security for several companies.

He met his future wife, Alice M. Bibaud, of Concord, while on leave. They were married for 59 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Christine Locke Leimberger and her husband, John Leimberger of Orange, CA, and Stephanie Locke Levin and her husband, Paul Levin, of Nottingham, NH. Lew considered himself truly blessed to have such wonderful daughters and "sons."

When his daughters were young, he introduced them to hunting, fishing, and the wonders of the natural world. He and his children enjoyed that knowledge for all of his remaining years. He also enjoyed reading, particularly historical novels.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pope Memorial Humane Society, the Wounded Warrior Project, or a charity of your choice.

The Purdy Memorial Chapel on 2 Concord Rd (Route 4) of Lee, NH are handling the arrangements.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 8, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. The funeral will be for immediate family only, and the burial, also private, will be at the NH State Veterans' Military Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
