Lewis James Wright, Sr., 85, of Cliffwood Beach, NJ, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on July 1, 2025. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY and lived for many years in Cliffwood Beach.
Lew was a highly skilled mechanic and worked for Robin Ford for many years. He also worked at Black Fort Marina as a marine mechanic. He continued to further his training in mechanics at Brookdale College, then became an automotive lab assistant facility/ adjunct professor. Lew was an accomplished musician and formed his own Country and Western Band called "Lew Wright and The Country Melody Band" where he enjoyed many years of entertainment. He loved his summer passion of smoking a cigar at the Laurel Harbor Marina, sitting at his table, talking mechanics and meeting people.
Mr. Wright is predeceased by his parents Lewis Wright and Isabel Kemmer, and two sons, Frank Charles Wright and Lewis James Wright Jr. Surviving are his two daughters Dianna Latorraca and her husband Carlo and their son Anthony Mario Latorraca, and Theresa Wright, two grandchildren Maura and her husband Kevin Goodwin and Lewis Wright, and great- great grandchild Patrick Goodwin.
Visiting hours for relatives and friends will be offered on Monday July 7, 2025, from 4:00-8:30pm, with a Prayer Service at 8:00pm, at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721. Funeral Tuesday, at 9:00am at the funeral home before leaving at 10am for the burial at St. Gabriel's Cemetery, 549 Rt. 520 Newman Spring Rd. Marlboro Twp., NJ 07746.
