The memorial service for Lilah Rasmussen, 85, of Hendricks, formerly of Tracy, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Tracy. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the remembrance center. Interment will follow the service at Bethel Cemetery in Garvin.
Lilah Ann (Kopitzke) Rasmussen, daughter of Henry and Judith (Reese) Kopitzke was born at home on the family farm near St. Leo on December 1, 1939. On December 31, 1957, she married Eugene Rasmussen in Hendricks, MN. They lived in several area communities until 1968 when they moved to Garvin. In 2006, they moved to Dawson and Eugene died in 2009.
Lilah was a busy homemaker, raising children for many years. She loved growing flowers, gardening, collecting dolls, photography, and spending time with her family. She and her sister, Evelyn, co-owned the Country Bargains store in Dawson. Due to declining health, Lilah moved to the Divine Providence Nursing Home in Ivanhoe. After that facility closed, she moved to the Hendricks Nursing Home. She loved to sing and to visit with all. If you wanted to see her smile, you just had to start singing "You Are My Sunshine" and she would join in..
Lilah died on Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Hendricks Community Nursing Home in Hendricks, MN. She is survived by her children Eugene (Mary) Rasmussen of Staples, MN, Conrad (Barb) Rasmussen of Garvin, Dallas (Tami) Rasmussen of Welcome, Wade Rasmussen of Lynch, NE, Jeffrey (Danielle Skarl) Rasmussen of Balaton, Darrell (Amy) Rasmussen of Dawson, Gale (Kevin) Lacek of Canby, Rebecca Sheets of Thomas Township, MN; sister Norma Kettner of Richfield, MN and brother-in-law Michael De Young of Richfield, MN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harold and Donald, sisters Dorothy, Donna, and Evelyn, brother-in-law Loren Kettner, son Mark, daughters Terry and Lisa, son-in-law Sherman Sheets and daughter-in-law Rhonda.
