Lillian Rose Snyder, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 103. Born on August 8, 1921, in Covington, Kentucky, Rose was the daughter of a hardworking, loving family. She married the love of her life, Frank C. Snyder, Sr., on February 14, 1940, and together they built a beautiful life and raised two sons, Frank C. Snyder Jr. and David E. Snyder.
In August of 1958, Rose and Frank moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she would live for the remainder of her life. Rose dedicated her early years to being a stay-at-home mom, but when her youngest son, David, was 9 years old, she began working for the Clark County School District as a cook at Vegas Verdes Elementary School, a position she held until her retirement in 1976.
Rose was known for her love and devotion to her family. She was the epitome of kindness and generosity, with a playful and spicy side that could surprise you. She loved with all her heart, and those who were lucky enough to be close to her knew they were cherished. Rose was straightforward and real-there was nothing fake about her. She often said, "You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl." She had a down-to-earth, simple nature, but if provoked, the Scot/Irish in her would emerge in full force-"clouding up and raining all over you."
A lover of sweets, Rose's favorite thing in the world was dessert. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always saying they kept her alive. Her love was unconditional and constant, and the love she gave made you feel like no one else in the world could love you the way she did. Rose always said she hated school but loved P.E., and she carried with her the lessons and resilience learned during tough times, having survived both World War II and the Great Depression. She was a tough cookie in every sense.
Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Frank C. Snyder, Sr. Although she has left this earthly world, her love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. We take comfort in knowing that Rose is now resting peacefully in God's arms.
We will love you forever, Momma, but we are so thankful that you are at rest. Thank you for being the heart and soul of our family.
