Graveside service for Lily Jones will be 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 19, 2025 in Rosehill Cemetery in Cleburne, Texas.
Lily Jones, a beloved matriarch and vibrant presence in her community, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in Coleman, Texas, at the age of 81. Born on February 25, 1944, in Canton, Ohio, Lily was known for her unwavering spirit and her deep love for the natural world. She spent over 25 years as a nurse’s aid in nursing homes caring for the elderly.
Lily's life was a tapestry woven with the joys of gardening, where she found solace and fulfillment tending to her plants. Her passion for the outdoors extended beyond her garden beds; she delighted in exploring garage sales and flea markets, always on the lookout for hidden treasures that reflected her zest for life. Nature was her sanctuary, and she cherished every moment spent among its beauty, often enjoying bird watching in her leisure time. She also enjoyed traveling with her best friend Bill in their travel trailer with their dog Rufus
Lily is survived by four sons, Mark Giesbrecht, Terry Jones, Tony Jones and Wibert Giesbrecht, siblings Frank Snyder, Bill Snyder, Tad Snyder, Alan Snyder, Dorothy Snyder, Della Snyder, and Gene Snyder, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
In her later years at Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman, Lily created a warm and loving environment around her. She thrived on socializing with her peers and found enjoyment in playing bingo, often competing for her favorite treat ice cream. Her cheerful demeanor and engaging spirit made her a cherished member of the community, leaving a lasting impact on everyone around her.
Lily Jones will be deeply missed by her family and friends, whose lives she touched with her kindness and infectious enthusiasm for life. Her legacy of love, hard work, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
