Linda M. Goodwin of Eliot, ME, formerly of Natick and Everett, MA, passed away peacefully in her home in Eliot on June 20th, at the age of 76 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 3, 1949, to Orlando R. Goodwin and Helen I. Goodwin (Atwood). She was predeceased by her brother Steven R Goodwin.
Linda grew up in Everett, MA, and graduated from Everett High School with the Class of 1967. She went on to earn her degree from Northeastern University. Following graduation, she began her professional career at Paul Revere Insurance, remaining with the company through several mergers and name changes until her retirement from Unum.
Linda was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Linda's love of animals was endless and can be seen in the hours she spent working at local animal shelters and feeding the various animals that visited the bird feeders she had outside her window.
She is survived by her brother, Brian Goodwin, and his wife, Doreen, of Eliot, ME, as well as her nephew, Nicholas Goodwin of Everett, MA.
A private graveside ceremony will be held. Contributions in Linda's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite animal shelter.
