Linda Hancock Ashley, 81 years old of Lancaster Texas, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband and children.
Linda was born to Martha and Emory Hancock on October 20, 1943, at Florence Nightingale Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Linda attended school in Wilmer Hutchins from 1st thru 12th grade and graduated in 1962. In high school, she was a devoted member of the band and drill team. She maintained a continuous love and connection with her Wilmer Hutchins classmates. Through the years, she was deeply involved in class reunion planning and keeping in touch with them.
After a short time at the Nortex Phone company, she was hired at Beard Plumbing company where she worked side by side with her father. Linda went on to be a stay-at-home mom from 1967 to 1974. In 1974, when her friend Judy Houtchens opened the Lovin' Oven Bakery on the Lancaster Town Square, Linda joined Judy where she developed a passion for decorating cakes. She loved being a Cub Scout Den Mother, PTA Room Mother, and attending twirling competitions with Robin. She enjoyed being an avid supporter of the Lancaster FFA and attending Livestock Shows with Harlan and all his close friends. Linda had been an Elvis fan since her youth. Her love for Elvis continued in her later years by following Elvis tribute artists with many of her lifelong friends and her daughter, Bambi.
Linda belonged to the First Christian Church of Lancaster where she cherished her relationship with God. Many enjoyable times of fun and fellowship with her First Christian Church family, was near and dear to her heart. Linda was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lancaster Chapter #943. Along with her First Christian and Eastern Star friends, Linda and Hugh Mac had lifelong friends and family in which time spent with them will forever be treasured!
