Linda Gail (Stratton) Hutchison, 77, of Mount Vernon, Indiana passed away on July 9, 2025. She was born on August 21, 1947 in Mount Vernon, Indiana to the late Richard and Mary (Higginbottom) Stratton.
She married Edward Dale Hutchison on August 10, 1965. Shortly after marriage, Edward joined the army, where they raised two children, Ricky Dale Hutchison and Tracy Lynn (Hutchison) Miller. Linda had a passion for animals, and had a career in animal veterinarian services as well as animal rescue. In her spare time, she could be found horseback riding and traveling the country trail riding with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years; sister, Gloria Bridges; brother, John Stratton; and her grandson, Justin Alldredge.
She is survived by her son, Ricky; daughter, Tracy Miller (Jamie); grandchildren, Cody Hogan (Hailey) of Aubrey, TX, Austin Hutchison (Kendra) of Evansville, IN; Candace Miller of Clarendon, TX, Amber Miller of Aubrey, TX, Justin Miller of Meridian, TX, Shelbi Skates of Aubrey, TX, Madeline Holden of Carmi, IL, Emma Hutchison of Norris City, IL; and her 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard Lee Stratton and Larry Stratton; sister, Karen Wichser; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Gracie Mae.
Services to be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to NEWLIFE Rescue & Adoption, 6500 Leonard Rd., Mt. Vernon, IN 47620.
