Linda Jones, age 82, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on July 28, 2025, and is now with her Lord and Savior.

Linda was born on June 18, 1943, in Jasper, Texas. She grew up in the home her father built, and was fortunate to live next door to her grandparents, whom she loved dearly. She often reminisced about growing up around her family in Jasper and spending time picking muscadines and blackberries. She frequently talked about the many family reunions and gatherings at her grandparents' house. Linda also enjoyed playing basketball in high school. These simple joys from her childhood were some of her fondest memories.

It was at Springhill Baptist Church in Jasper that she met the love of her life, Bobby Jones, beginning a lifelong partnership grounded in faith, love, and family. Linda and Bobby had two children whom they adored, Keith and Vicki. They were raised with a love of God and family.

Linda and Bobby moved to Houston, where they raised their children. They enjoyed traveling home to visit family, participating in church activities together, and spending time at their property on Lake Livingston. These were some of the Jones family's happiest times.

A devoted Christian, Linda dedicated her life to serving the Lord. She played both the organ and piano in church, was deeply involved in church work, and in her later years, enjoyed singing in the Silver Bells, a church singing group. Music was a central part of her life, especially gospel music, which she and Bobby shared a special love for-particularly the Gaither Vocal Band.

Among the traditions Linda created, one of the most treasured was the annual Christmas Bake Day. Started 37 years ago, this day of baking, laughter, and togetherness has become a lasting family tradition that will continue through the generations, just as she wished.

Sadly, in 2006 Bobby went to be with the Lord, and Linda found comfort and blessing in caring for her mother, children, and grandchildren. When her mother needed her, Linda moved back to Jasper to care for her during her final years. After her mother passed away, Linda moved back to Spring to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Bobby Jones; her son Keith Jones; her parents, Clarence and Helen Cryer; and her mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Willie Jones.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Kreger; her brother, Danny Cryer, and sister-in-law Marla Cryer; her daughter-in-law, Jenni Jones; her grandchildren, Brandi, Brittney, John, Brandon, Katelyn, Nathan; and her great-grandchildren, Blake, Mackenzie, Jack, Presley, and Charley.

Linda will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant's heart, and her abiding love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hymns she played and sang, and the traditions that she started.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Linda sang with the Silver Belles of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She was dedicated to worship in song. She said she wanted to convey the message in each song she sang. I won´t forget, I learned that from her.
