Linda K. Pomeroy, 59, of Winterset, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City from complications of Autoimmune Liver Disease.
Linda Kay Hermanson was born October 11, 1965, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Roger G. and Norma Lou (Slattum) Hermanson. She grew up in Lake Mills, Iowa and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1984. She went on to attend Iowa State University where she earned a degree in marketing. During her time there, Linda found a passion for Iowa State sports and loved cheering for the Cyclones. She enjoyed golf, participated in several RAGBRAIs, and loved traveling.
Before beginning her 34 years with Wells Fargo, Linda worked at several banks in Albert Lea. She moved to Des Moines and later married Tim Pomeroy in 2001. Together they were blessed with a son, Nathan, and made their home in Adel, Iowa before moving to Winterset in 2005. Although the marriage ended in 2014, they remained good friends.
Linda enjoyed being involved in Nathan’s activities, including serving as his Cub Scout leader and cheering him on in sports and band performances. She also enjoyed traveling and supporting him in club volleyball. She treasured the friendships she built with the other parents during those years.
Linda is survived by her son, Nathan Pomeroy; brothers, Jim (Mary) Hermanson of Mason City, IA and Tom Hermanson of Fertile, IA; step-brothers, Michael (Doreen) Scherf of Tucson, AZ, Rob Scherf of Rio Rico, AZ, Mike Alvey of WI, and Mark Alvey of WI; step-sister, Pat Scherf (fiancé, Kevin Dirkes) of Osakis, MN; and an uncle, Kenneth Hermanson of Albert Lea, MN. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Pebbles and her grand pup, Goob.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Roger G. Hermanson and stepmother, Betty, and mother, Norma Alvey and stepfather, Jerry; grandparents, James and Olga Hermanson and Clarence and Lillian (Lilly) Slattum; aunts and uncles, Mary Ann Hermanson, Carl (Ovila) Hanna, Cecil (Barb) Slattum, Darrel (Mary) Slattum, Richard (Janelle) Slattum, Verne (Floyd) Skellenger, Shirley (Kenneth) Chodur; and cousin, Lori Hermanson.
