Lloyd Frank "Ronnie" Bishop passed away Monday, July 1, in Tulsa, OK. He was born July 4, 1950 in Tulsa, OK. At age 2, he was adopted into the loving home of Lois and Richard Bishop, of Rush Springs, Oklahoma.
Raised in the small, country town of Rush Springs, Ronnie loved horses, boots, cowboy hats, and sports. As a child, he was lovingly nicknamed "Butch" by his family.
Ronnie also loved singing and playing the guitar. He wrote many songs and was an avid Country and Gospel music producer. His most famous song was "Here Comes the Bride" which peaked at #2 on the Gospel Charts in 1986. Also, "Not a Day Goes by" went to #3 on Country Gospel Radio K.A.K.C.
Ronnie also loved acting. He was a famous local actor in Tulsa seen in many commercials in the mid 1980's. His most famous original character was "Billy Bob" for Clark Country Chevrolet.
Ronnie especially loved Jesus and spending time with his family. He enjoyed coaching his son's "Mighty Mites" football team and announcing the High School football games for the State Champion Rush Springs Redskins in the mid to late 1990's.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Shari Gibe, of New Jersey, daughter, Frankie Melissa "Missy" Fulford, of Chicago, IL, daughter, Tori Branum, of Dublin, Georgia, daughter, Nicole and husband Col Dan McGuire of Scott AFB, IL, son, Josh Bishop and wife Dru. Sister, Robyn Willard of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, sister, Kim Bishop of Houma, Louisiana, brother, Chipp Latham of Hebron, Kentucky. Also, 13 grandchildren and many other cousins and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dana Bishop, of Tulsa, OK, and grandson, Tristan Murry Fulford, of Duncan, OK.
Services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, at 1:00 pm at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church in Rush Springs, OK. Graveside service to follow.
Family has requested that if donations are made, please donate to help with funeral cost.
