Jean Adams passed away on September 17, 2025 at 4:12 PM in South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside, NY,

surrounded by her loved ones.

Jean was born on February 28, 1931 in St. Albans, NY to Dorris & Leo Millspaugh. As a young child she would spend

time in Massachusetts on her grandfather's farm. She spent her teen years in Richmond Hill, NY. Her favorite hobbies and

activities throughout her childhood and teenage years included playing with her friends on the playground, crafting,

and playing with dolls, taking photos, going to the beach with her friends in Rockaway and tap dancing, where she

even went on to try out for the famous Radio City Rockettes. Later on, she met the love of her life, Philip Adams.

Phil and Jean got married on February 22, 1953 at Trinity Church in Hewlett, NY. They had four beautiful children,

Betsy, Laurie, Philip Jr. and Nancy, as well as their niece, Anne. Their fondest family memories include many holiday

traditions, Keystone Yacht Club, afternoon drives to Jones Beach, Silver Point Beach Club, hanging out with the

Koehler's and days spent swimming in their backyard pool. As one can imagine, family life was hectic having 4 kids

who were always in different stages of their lives, but Jean and her dear husband Phil handled it eloquently and gave

them a childhood like no other.

Jean worked hard throughout her life, having many jobs including working at the Credit Suisse Bank, as registrar at

the Hewlett-Woodmere School district for 20 wonderful years, and at the circulation desk at the Hewlett-Woodmere

Public Library. When she was not working, Jean enjoyed knitting, watching soap operas, playing Mahjongg, puzzles

and paint-by-number on her iPad. She also enjoyed being a part of the homemakers counsel, where she got to show

off her crafting skills.

Later in life she was blessed with 8 beautiful grandchildren: Christopher, Sean, Callie, Tyler, Nicholas, Blake, Freddy

& Thyra; and one adorable great granddaughter, Whitney. Being their Momar was truly the most incredible blessings

in life. She did anything and everything to make their lives extraordinary. From trips to Disney, memorable

Christmases filled with the most unique and heart-warming traditions, summers spent at her cabana, G-39 at Silver

Point Beach Club, trips to NJ & PA, being their biggest fan at sporting events, dance recitals and school events and

spoiling them all with her eternal love…she was the best grandmother in every way.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She spent her life caring for her

loved ones and making everything around her more beautiful. She beat stage 4 breast cancer and is a true warrior in

every sense of the word. She is survived by her children, Betsy (John) Griffin, Laurie SanPhillipo, Philip Jr. (Laura)

Adams & Nancy Love; her grandchildren, Chris (Stephanie), Sean & Tyler (Jamie) Griffin, Callie & Nick SanPhillipo,

Blake Adams, and Freddy & Thyra Love; her great granddaughter, Whitney and her late husband's sister and niece,

Joan Goebel & Anne Goebel Tompkins.

To Jean's Family,

I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom. Grandma, and Great Grandma. I had such great fun with her for several years as we worked together in Hewlett High School. She was a wonderful person in every way. I am truly blessed to have had her in my life. Her caring, generosity, and compassion always shone through brightly. Rest in peace old friend.
