Lois Johnson Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 15, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Lois Johnson October 20th, 1955 - July 4th, 2025
On Friday, July 4th, 2025, Lois made her final bold decision-because let's be honest, decisions were always hers to make. She gracefully declared her earthly work complete and moved on to a more peaceful place, likely already offering advice and telling them how to get things done up there.
Lois spent the last 9½ years staring down cancer not once, not twice, but twenty times-and she came out on top every single time. Her strength came from deep reserves of love for her family and friends, and from being, unapologetically, stubborn as all hell.
She was a force of nature. Lois inspired many and struck fear in some, but always wrapped it in love. Her sharp wit, fierce devotion, and boundless generosity touched countless lives. Whether she was lifting someone up or pushing them forward, she left a permanent mark on everyone lucky enough to know her.
Though she's no longer physically with us, Lois lives on in our stories, our laughter, and the unshakable strength she taught us. Her legacy is carved into the hearts of all who loved her-and that list is long.
She is survived by her loving husband Melvin and her Son Richard, and the countless people who were moved by her loving spirit, shaped by her strength, and inspired by her determination.
A burial service will be held at 2pm on July 26th 2025, immediately followed by a celebration of life.
Events will be held at the Mello, but because of the excessive amount of attendees, please try to carpool. Parking will be along one side of the road (on the field side), and up past the Mello at the two smaller Trailhead lots and one larger on County Road. There will be a shuttle for transportation from the lots.
In leu of flowers, we ask that you please send donations to Lamoille County Cancer Society or Lamoille Home Health and Hospice.
The dress code requirements are as follows: Wear pink, any pink- leave the boring funeral black attire at home. Please bring a chair, a dish to share, and beverage of your choice. The Mello address: 3323 Nebraska Valley Rd. Stowe, VT 05672 To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Lois, please visit our floral store.
