Long Lu (Moore) Rowland

1935-2025

Lona Lu Moore was born to Cloyd LeRoy Moore and Erma G. Moore, July 8, 1935, on the family farm known as River View Farm in Harrison County, MO. She left this world peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the age of 90. A cherished Mother, devoted friend and compassionate soul. She loved being out in the countryside and playing piano and organ and would sing along with anyone. She was very quick witted and loved laughter. She had a lifelong passion for culinary arts and sewing. Her presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from NWMSU, Maryville, Mo and her master's degree from CMSU, Warrensburg, MO. She married Robert Lee Babb in 1954. To this union two children were born, Robert Lee Babb II and Kara Beth Babb. No greater joy Lona Lu had than rearing her children. She is survived by Robert Lee Babb, Kara Beth Babb (Robin); three grandsons, Jordan Andrew Babb (Alison), Joshua Adam Babb and Jacob Alexander Babb (Maddie) and a great granddaughter, Isabelle Louise Babb.

She married Mel Rowland later in life. He preceded her in death. To mourn her death are her immediate family and many cousins that she adored and considered siblings.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Cedar Hill Cemetery in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424.
