Loving mother and grandmother, Lora May Ash, 81, of Parkersburg, passed away peacefully Monday, July 7, 2025.
She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Ernest Caplinger and Estella Morris Gooseman.
Lora loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed camping, fishing, hummingbirds, and serving the Lord with the Landmark Baptist Church.
Her love and memory will be cherished by her children, Jerry Clayton Ash of Rockport, Andrea Marie Sibley of Parkersburg, Randy Lee Ash (Angela) of Rockport, Michael Lynn Ash of Rockport, Rebecca Sue Gill (Valorie) of Little Hocking, Donna Jean Underwood (John) of Belpre, Beverly Ann Dedrick (David) of Waverly, and Mark Anthony Ash (Jennifer) of Waverly; seventeen grandchildren; and thirty-two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Lora was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Francis Ash in 1996; a granddaughter, Jennifer Marie Riley; and sister, Lois Frances Caplinger.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lamb officiating. Services will conclude at Evergreen North Cemetery where Lora will be laid to rest beside her husband. Her family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the funeral home.
