Loraine Bjork Obituary

Loraine Regina Bjork, 67, of Indiantown, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 15th, 2025, at Treasure Coast Hospice, following an illness.
Raines as she preferred to be called, lived in Beverly Massachusetts then moving to Essex MA with her family in her early years. She attended Essex Elementary, graduated high school in Gloucester MA and went on to Salem State College where she earned her Bachelors Of Science in Education. Rainey went on to work as a substitute teacher and then became a nanny for five years. She adored working as a nanny and would remain life-long friends with the family. In 1981, she began her career with the U.S. Customs Service as a Treasury Department Inspector in Madawaska, Maine, rising to the position of Senior Inspector. Later in her career transferring to Derby Line, Vermont, where she worked as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer, retiring after over 30 years dedication of service.
When not working she loved the game of golf. She was a member of the Newport Country Cub, where she played in the ladies' leagues and many tournaments. One of her most memorable golfing accomplishments, but not her only, occurred at Orlean's Country Club when she made a "Hole-in-one" on the 8th hole. On Tuesdays during the summer months, she traveled and played many courses in Vermont with her Newport Golfing gals and her golfing partner and friend Janet. Upon retirement she moved to Florida to follow her Newport Golfing partner, so they could play golf together year-round.
Loraine found comfort and companionship in her beloved pets, whom she regarded as her children. Rascal, Roo Tigger, George, Gracie, and Riely. Heaven gained not only her beautiful soul, but also the joyful reunion of her cherished animal companions.
Loraine leaves behind a brother Edwin E. Bjork, a niece Arianna S. Bjork, and several cousins. Loraine was predeceased by her parents Clarence Bjork and Loraine Bjork (Daily), her brother Warren Bjork and his wife Hee Bjork.
